Civil War: Its Inevitability, Why the North was Victorious and Its Legacy
Rarely in the course of civil wars do they end in reunification and reconciliation. The American Civil War, however, was a unique, victorious example of triumph where others have failed. To learn from this rarity, to build upon the experience, itÂ’s important to first look at the events leading up to the war while considering its inevitability, as well as why the North was triumphant. It learned that it is possible to overcome regional differences, civil strife and turmoil, and that only by putting our bitterness and sectionalism aside, for the good of the country as a whole, can we truly be a great nation.
