Manifest Destiny and the United States-Mexico Conflict.
This paper examines the meaning of the phrase, "Manifest Destiny" with regards to the 19th century conflict between the U.S. and Mexico. In describing the role of expansionism of the United States in the 1840s, this paper argues that "manifest destiny" is represents the aggressive expansion of the United States at this time into Texas and California. The central conflict during this period was a long struggle between the United States and Mexico over the western part of the continent. 16 pgs. 2 Sources.
