This ten page graduate paper examines the role of logistics in World War II. The author notes that the combined efforts of the United States Merchant Marine, the United States Navy, and the industrialized Home Front were vital for Allied victory in World War II. Defeating the armed forces of Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and Fascist Italy required the mass production and delivery of hundreds of millions of tons of war supplies to the combat forces fighting for freedom all around the world.
