This paper discusses the culture of the ozarks in three works, one sociological, one dramatic fictional, and one comic fictional. The paper compares and contrasts Robert Gilmore's "Ozark Baptizings", "Hangings", and "Other Diversions", Harold Bell Wright's "The Shepherd of the Hills", and Al Capp's classic comic strip "Li'l Abner".
