Historical Views of the Brain Mind and Behavior.

What is the brain for but to carry the body around? This is one of the most complex questions ever asked and equally complex is the functioning of the brain, its ultimate purpose, its affect on behavior, and the intricacies of its functioning. Medical science and the psychological community are still struggling for all of the answers to the complex operations of the brain, but they are far closer to the reality of the functioning of the human mind than the ancients who in their struggle for understanding created many novel, but apparently logical explanations for the functioning of the brain. This paper will examine the early theories of brain, mind and behavior, and the functioning of the brain. Each theorist is examined individually and then analyzed.
