This paper examines Corporate Workplace Policy Making. It analyzes the revolutionary introduction of self-directed work teams at Texas Instruments (TI) in the mid-1990s. The introduction of self-directed work teams reduced supervisors from 80 to 8 and completely changed job descriptions and responsibilities.
