This paper compares the lives and work of Henry Gnatt and Frank Gilbreth, pioneers in the scientific study of management and the workplace. Both scholars were a product of the "Scientific Management" movement, the brainchild of Fredrick Taylor, who practically began the notion of scientific inquiry into the process of management and efficiency in the late 19th and early 20th century.
