It is often said that money, not love, is what makes the world go round. And, in fact, it has been argued that money is the only motivator in the workplace. In the Wall Street Journal, Hal Lancaster, in fact, states, Money has more influence on our career decisions than any of us would like to admit. (qtd. in Vine) When one considers the state of society where people are constantly in material competition with the Jones, few can deny that money is definitely a motivating factor. Certainly, money either the abundance or lack of it is a vital fact of any existence, (Vine) however, is it truly the only factor? Upon careful analysis, one can see that, no, money is not the only motivator in the workplace.
