In the chapter Personality, Learning and Perception, several key elements of human relations were discussed including: personality, stress and intelligence and learning. The revelation of the importance of these facets, that are so often taken for granted, as well as one particular classroom exercise, furthered a deeper understanding of how personality affects aspects of ones life as well as those around them.
One, of the most significant sections of this chapter, personally, was the Intelligence and Learning section. This section started off with an explanation of emotional intelligence and the five components of EI including: self-awareness, management of emotions, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills. Although emotional intelligence is a critical part to not only functioning effectively and efficiently within a business organization, but also in ones private life as well, I found the section on Learning Theory, to be even more enlightening.
