The Human Factor: The Dynamics of Motivation in the Organization.
This paper will outline some of the leading motivational theories that have been developed over the 20th century. It will also make an effort to link theory to practice by looking at the role of money in increasing motivation. In the final analysis, an unavoidable truth is revealed. What motivates some (including money), simply does not motivate others. Managers are therefore presented with a difficult proposition. Different reward systems may have to be used to motivate individuals within the firm, and indeed within the same department. 12.5 pgs. 16 f/c. 8b.
