This paper answers issues raised in a case study entitled "The Road to Hell" in which a company operating in a foreign country wants to promote a local man to a leadership position but faces tensions created by ill feelings on both sides, withe the Europeans feeling superior and the locals feeling that the Europeans look down on them, considering issues of organizational strategy that might be changaed to create a better atmosphere in the future.
