This paper analyzes the way Wal-Mart responded to the hurricanes in Florida and notes how the company strategy of weather forecasting and demand prediction worked to keep the right stock of goods in stores and to meet the needs of consumers at a difficult time, strategies which would work for other companies if they had the same access to customer information as does Wal-Mart.
