The Legal rights of men and women in common-law relationships have changed greatly over time within the state of California. This paper will explore the legal causes of action available to one woman who has been unfairly treated in a crumbling common-law relationship; this paper also contains hypothetical internal and external memoranda that would reflect the likely state of affairs if she was going to proceed with a trial in real life. Finally, the paper ends with a rebuttal to Mr. Baerra's hypothetical attorney asking that Ms. Virtue's suit be dismissed.
