This paper will present an analysis of the Canadian transportation industry, recent developments that have affected it, and possible future concerns in an attempt to evaluate its current position. This will include an assessment of its performance, the ways in which firms have changed, if at all, and the evolution of the industry's competitive environment. It is hypothesised that in spite of the turbulence that the industry has had to face in recent times, the Canadian transportation has managed to make a significant impact on the economy and has become increasingly efficient, effective and competitive. 10 pgs. 17 f/c. 10b.
