The Industrial Revolution and the Atlantic Economy
This paper focuses on the effect of the Atlantic Economy upon the development of the Industrial Revolution after the mid-eighteenth century in Great Britain. Simply put, the massive, captive consumer market of the colonies necessitated technological improvements if that market's demands were to be sated. Additionally, the enclosure acts of the late eighteenth century were impactful as well.
