Sharing with students ideas concepts from philosophy and the humanities can be a deeply rewarding experience for a teacher because it allows the teacher to share his or her own path of discovery of some of the most important concepts in human history and civilization. It may be difficult at first to convince students that the humanities (and especially philosophy) are relevant to their lives, but when the teacher can help students connect the works of the great thinkers of the broad range of human civilization to their own experiences it can be very rewarding.
