The Political Influence of the Vatican: An Analysis
This twenty-page undergraduate paper examines the political influence of the Vatican during the first half of the twentieth century. The author notes that historians are in general agreement that the political influence of the Vatican during the first half of the twentieth century varied from country to country, depending upon the number of Catholics comprising their respective populations. In countries such as Italy and Spain, where the Roman Catholic Church was a powerful institution, Vatican influence was stronger than in countries such as the United States and Great Britain, where Protestant denominations were prevalent.
