This paper will discuss the three books that would be chosen for the annual in 2000 for Caldecott Award Nomination for best young persons book. By understanding how these books are, the three best for the award, we can see why they were chosen for this merit. The three chosen books are: Nobody in Particular, by Molly Bang, Eileen Spinelli's Sophie's Masterpiece, and Deborah Hopkinson's Fannie in the Kitchen, illustrated by Nancy Carpenter.
