This paper addresses the style of writing of Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner in "Barn Burning" and "Soldier's Home". These stories are emotionally moving action stories about two young men who must make decisions about their life. In "Barn Burning" the young boy's father burns barns whenever he is angry. The young boy believes this is wrong and tells a plantation owner in order to prevent his barn from being burnt.
