This paper will take a critical look at US Foreign Policy towards Iran to make sense of the situation. First, brief background of US-Iranian relations will be provided, followed by an outlining of the rationale of US interest in Iran. The primary thrust of the paper will look at US policy towards Iran in the post Gulf War era.
