The United States is the worlds biggest gambling market (Heller and Kirkman 2003). Gambling is a word that sends mixed messages to different people. Some people think of addiction when the word gambling is mentioned, while others believe it is an innocent way of having a good time. Can casino gambling lead to homelessness? Who suffers when families become addicted to casino gambling? What risks affect those who gamble? It is the opinion of the writer that casino gambling should be prohibited because it hurts nations and cities that allow casino gambling, it hurts people who become addicted, it hurts young people, it hurts families and it can lead to homelessness.
