This paper discusses research into different aspects of emotion and the influence of the cool and hot focus on emotion, the ability of the individual to inhibit certain responses or behaviors, and the relationship between affect and cognition. The research shows how reactive emotionality pre-disposes certain people to certain behaviors, such as shyness or exuberance.
