This paper considers the promotion of mental health in Great Britain, using Mr. X as a test case to examine the operation of the National Health Service, some of what should have been done for this patient but was not, and the way this patient is developing a depression that could be harmful in the long run and that needs to be addressed by some of the means discussed here.
