This paper discusses the symptoms and treatment for generalized anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders causes people to feel extremely frightened, distressed, and uneasy during situations in which most others would not experience these symptoms. Anxiety disorders in children can lead to poor school attendance, low self-esteem, and too much worry for little things, deficient interpersonal skills, alcohol abuse, and adjustment difficulty. "Generalized anxiety disorder is a relatively common anxiety problem, affecting 3-4% of the population, that turns daily life into a state of worry, anxiety, and fear.
