This paper is an analysis of the arguments in the essay "Condemnation without Absolutes" by Stanley Fish, a discussion of the way people reacted after the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York and Washington and how the enemy was made to seem satanic and evil, with little effort given to trying to understand what the enemy thought and why it behaved as it did.
